S- Stop and take stock
Will things matter as much 3 months from now? Will you even remember this 5 years from now? Do you think this fear is real or it has an imaginary background? Ask yourself exactly what you are experiencing and why? Ask yourself what you did when you felt this way in the past and how did it help you. This will help you understand your situation better.
T- Take a deep breath
Focusing on your breath will help you greatly in feeling calm and relaxed. Direct your awareness or your consciousness to breathing and stop thinking about other things. Your focus should always be on your breathing. This will help you in staying away from toxic thoughts. Keep breathing deeply.
O- Open up and observe
Look around you. Open your heart and learn to receive more from the universe. Your sense of awareness should be heightened now. Move ahead of your current position and try to find new possibilities in the world. You will be surprised at the number of possible outcomes for each situation you are in. If it is something you don’t want, prepare to go through that phase. If there is something you want, open your heart and receive it with joy.
Mindfulness can be practiced in daily life in a much subtler more important way. For example, you could eat while keeping your phone away. Focus on the food you are eating. Enjoy its smell, its taste and let your mouth slowly dive deep into the taste and nourishment that this morsel of food is bringing to you. Simply doing this could single-handedly change your mental state and make you more mindful and relaxed.
